Route: FOB Chennai – Port of Mundra – Port of Novorossiysk – onward truck delivery across the Russian Federation.
The main challenge here was the quarantine status of the cargo, which required strict phytosanitary control. We incorporated a transshipment via Mundra into the route to optimize the sea leg to Novorossiysk, rather than shipping directly from Chennai. At the port of arrival, we arranged for preliminary approval of permits and fumigation without holding the containers at the quarantine warehouse. As a result, nine 40‑foot containers passed inspection smoothly, and the total door‑to‑door time was 45 days – which, given all the procedures, is an excellent performance for this route. The client avoided downtime and penalties for violating phytosanitary requirements.
